A PRAYER FOR OUR FINANCES
For the Week of March 30, 2025
Scripture Reading: Psalm 98, Psalm 112, I Timothy 6:9-10
Praise and Worship
Heavenly Father, You are our strength and our song. You have given us victory. You are our God, and we will praise You – our fathers’ God – and we will exalt You! We will stand up and praise You, Lord, our God, for You live from everlasting to everlasting! Thank You for providing for our Church Family during these tough economic times. Thank You for blessing commerce and trade in the Sacramento Area.
Praying God’s Will
Father God, Your Word teaches us that the earth is Yours and everything in it. You gave human beings charge of everything You made, putting all things under our authority. We will manage our own households well so that we can be trusted to take care of Your church and the riches of Your Kingdom, both physical and spiritual. We confess that we will not be anxious for wealth because we know that greed causes confusion and discord, but trusting the Lord leads to prosperity. We decree, Lord, that we will honor You with our wealth and with the best part of everything we produce.
Praying the Request
Holy Spirit, guide us so that we are not seduced by wealth or bribed into sin. Remind us, Holy Spirit, to heed the lesson in God’s Word: If we are faithful in little things, we will be faithful in large ones. If we are untrustworthy with worldly wealth, who will trust us with the true riches of heaven? No one can serve two masters. For we will hate one and love the other; we will be devoted to one and despise the other. We cannot serve both God and money.
Prayer for Forgiveness
Forgive those people for devising schemes that have devastated the financial markets around the world and destroyed many individuals’ security. Forgive us for not always trusting You to take care of us financially. Father, forgive those who embrace pride and boast about their riches. Holy Spirit, remind us of those we need to forgive and help us to be quick to forgive. As for me, Holy Spirit, bring to my remembrance those I need to forgive.
Prayer for Protection
Holy Spirit, help us not to yield to temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Praise and Worship
Almighty God, You have no equal! Who else has held the oceans in his hand? Who has measured off the heavens with his fingers? Who else knows the weight of the earth or has weighed the mountains and hills on a scale? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth. May everyone on earth praise His holy Name! In Jesus’ mighty Name, Amen!
