Prayer Petition

For the Week of December 30th
Prayer for Pastors

Scripture Reading: Psalm 90:1-2, Ephesians 4:11-16

Praise and Worship
Our Father in Heaven, we hallow Your Name. Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations. Lord, we give You praise and glory.  Blessed are You Lord, forever and ever.  We thank You Father, for our pastors. Thank You for pastors who serve You with all their hearts, minds, and souls.  Thank You for leading, directing, and protecting our pastors.  Thank You for blessing our Church with their leadership and wisdom. Additional Praise and Worship Scriptures:  Psalm 50:1-2

Praying God’s Will
Father, we believe that You have given us pastors who will feed us with knowledge and understanding.  They are not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, violent, nor are they greedy for money.  We confess that the Spirit of the Lord is upon them, and You have anointed them to preach good tidings to the poor. You have sent them to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, to open prison doors to those who are bound, and to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.  Additional Scriptures for praying God’s Will:  Joshua 1:6-8

Praying the Request
Father, we ask You to fill our pastors with the knowledge of Your Word in all wisdom and spiritual understanding.  Please continue to bless them as they lead Your people.  Lord, please help our pastors to lead balanced lives as they respond to the demands of ministry. Bless their spouses and children.  We ask that Your favor, love, and joy overtake them.  Father, bless them with the desires of their hearts. Encourage them and embrace them with Your love.

Praying for Forgiveness
Father, forgive us for not praying for our pastors.  Forgive us for murmuring, complaining, and speaking idle words against our pastors.  Forgive us for having doubt and unbelief against the vision You have given to our pastors.  Please forgive our pastors for any thoughts, words, or actions that were not pleasing to You.  Lord, remind them to be quick to forgive others and help them to forgive.

Praying for Protection
Father, lead our pastors not into temptation but deliver them from the evil one.

Praise and Worship
Lord, Yours is the greatness, the power and the glory, the victory and the majesty.  For all that is in heaven and in earth is Yours.  Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and You are exalted as head over all.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen.  Additional Praise and Worship Scriptures: Psalm 47:8-9
